Police Arrest Four Suspected Cultists In Ogun, Recover Pistol Other Dangerous Weapons

Items recovered from arrested suspected cultists in Ogun 

The operatives of Ogun State Police Command,  Ilaro division, said they have arrested four suspected cultists terrorising innocent residents of the area.

The suspected are 25-year-old Samson John (male), 28-year-old Olufowora Michael (male); 25-year-old Odeh Samuel Ejeh (male) and Olajide Jeremiah (male) 28-year-old.

Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ogun State Police Command, who confirmed the arrest, said they were nabbed in connection with assault, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm and other dangerous weapons, following a report lodged at the station.

Babaseyi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said that at about 11.30 pm on April 16, 2026,  a report was received at the station about the activities of the suspect.

The complainant, according to the police image maker stated that earlier on the same day at about 1pm, Samson, in the company of six others stormed his residence, assaulted him, threatened him with an axe, and robbed him of his mobile phone, an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Babaseyi further disclosed that upon swift response and subsequent investigation by the operatives, the suspects were apprehended.

“During the operation, one locally made pistol, an axe, suspected charms, and the stolen iPhone 14 Pro Max were recovered from them.

The suspects are currently in police custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution,” Babaseyi stated.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has commended the operatives for their prompt response and professionalism.

The CP reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for cultism and other violent crimes, assuring residents that all criminal elements would be decisively dealt with.
