The Delta State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Edo/Delta Area Command have deepened partnership in the fight against crime.

This was coming on the heels of the visit of Comptroller Judith Kanu, Customs Area Controller, Edo/Delta Command to the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi at the Police Command’s Headquarters, Asaba.

The visit, according to Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Command, formed part of efforts aimed at strengthening the existing synergy between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the NCS in the areas of intelligence sharing, coordinated operations, and effective law enforcement within Edo and Delta States.

Speaking during the visit, the Customs Area Controller noted that the engagement provided an opportunity to deepen inter-agency cooperation and enhance operational collaboration between both security agencies.

She stated that when security agencies align their efforts, they become more effective in discharging their constitutional responsibilities, while sending a clear message to criminal elements that law enforcement agencies remain united and resolute in the fight against crime and other unlawful activities.

The CP Oyeniyi in his response appreciated the Area Controller and her delegation for the visit.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining the cordial working relationship between both agencies. The CP noted that the collaboration between the Police and the Nigeria Customs Service is non-negotiable, stressing that both agencies complement each other in discharging their respective duties to ensure public safety and national security.

The meeting further highlighted the shared commitment of both agencies towards strengthening institutional partnership, enhancing proactive policing, and promoting effective security coordination within the state.
