The operatives of Delta State Police Command said that they engaged suspected kidnappers, armed Robbers and gun runners, made a number of arrests and recovered arms and ammunition.
In two of the operations, the operatives revealed that they trailed fleeing criminals terrorizing Delta community to Rivers and Kogi states, where they were arrested and recovered their arms and ammunition.

Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Command confirmed the arrests and recovery of weapons.
Edafe, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said that on March 26, 2025, operatives of CP’s special assignment team led by their commander, ASP Julius Robinson, trailed some suspected kidnappers as they extended their investigation to Rivers state, adding that at about 6.20pm, of same date, a fleeing suspected kidnapper name Chedeye Mohammed was trailed and arrested.
Edafe revealed that upon interrogation, the suspect led operatives to a bush after a trailer park in Rivers state, where they (suspects) hid their weapons.
He added that one AK-47 rifle loaded with 13 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was recovered.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his members usually kidnap victims at Ughelli, Agbarho, and other parts in the state and hibernate in Rivers State. Efforts to arrest his other gang members are ongoing.”

In another operation, the police image maker said that while acting on credible information, operatives of the CP special assignment led by ASP Robinson embarked on a sting operations in Anyangba town, Kogi State and arrested three suspects identified as Zakari Mohammed (m), aged 31 years old of Olugbujo community, Ibrahim Mumuni (m) aged 29 years old of Anyangba town, and Mohammed Hamisu (m), age 25, of Anyangba town all in Dekina LGA of Kogi state.
“A search warrant was executed at their residence, during which an AK-47 rifle and one automatic pump action gun were recovered.”
He said that on the same date, at about 2.05 pm, the operatives acting on the statements made by the suspects, arrested another suspect named Samaila Mohammed (m) aged 35, of Udo community in Dekina LGA and recovered a baretta pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition and some cartridges, adding that the suspects are in custody, while investigation was ongoing.

In another operation on March 25, 2025; the PPRO said that at about 6.20pm, the operatives of CP-SAT, while acting on intelligence, embarked on a covert operation at Olomoro community in Isoko South LGA and arrested one Emu Lucky (m), aged 35 years, a native of Igbide community.
He disclosed that during search of his premises, the operatives recovered 82 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was working with one Mohammed Bello, a suspected kidnapper already in custody. Mohammed Bello acts as a middle man between the suspected gun runner and other suspected kidnappers. Suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi has promised Deltans that this tempo would be sustained.
He added that he would ensure that the mandate given to him by the Inspector General Police, which is to ensure that all Deltans and residents in the state sleep with their two eyes closed would be delivered.
He also solicited more partnership and cooperation from all Deltans.
