The suspected cultists
The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command said they have arrested three Suspected cultists and recovered firearm from them.
The suspects are Adenuga Tosin (m), Jesutofunmi Ezekiel (m), and Adeniji Juwon (m).
Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos state command who confirmed the arrest said the suspected cultists were found to be in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Hundeyin, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), said their arrest and recovery followed a credible tip-off, which led to a well-coordinated, intelligence-led operation along the Owode-Ikorodu axis by one of the Command’s tactical teams.
“Further investigation showed that the suspects played key roles in facilitating the movement and distribution of illegal firearms across various parts of Lagos State, posing a serious threat to public safety. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other wanted members of the group. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the arrested suspects will be charged to court in accordance with due process and the rule of law,” the police image maker assured.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh has reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on cultism and criminality. He urged residents to support the police with timely information, as the Command remains committed to maintaining peace across the state.
