The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) Apapa Command has hosted the new Customs Area Controller (CAC), of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Murtala Mu’azu.

Mu’azu was on a courtesy visit aimed at deepening inter-agency collaboration and also on familiarization engagement.

NAQS Apapa Station Commander, Comptroller G.A. Orumah, received Mu’azu and his team. Officials from both agencies used the meeting to reinforce their working relationship in key areas, including trade facilitation, border control, regulatory compliance, and safeguarding Nigeria’s agricultural sector from the introduction and spread of pests and diseases through international trade.

Both services play complementary roles in the country’s import and export value chain.

They work to ensure legitimate trade moves efficiently while upholding customs, sanitary and phytosanitary standards.

NAQS restated its commitment to productive partnerships that support efficient port operations, stronger regulatory compliance, and safe, seamless international agricultural trade.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the agencies to improve coordination at Nigeria’s busiest port.
