Cross River state governor, Professor Ben Ayade has said the state opted for the concessioning of industries built by his administration to ensure that they continually rake in revenue and sustain jobs as well as boost the economy.

Governor Ayade who spoke at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office, Calabar during the concession signing ceremony between Cross River and HBMSL Group, disclosed that the firm will assume management of industries and ensure that products from the industries are rolled out within three months.

He said the option became a priority, due to popular demand opposed to outright privatization by Government.

The Governor explained that the concession will give room for checks and balances.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of HBMSL, Yemisi Kudehinbu, commended governor Ayade’s efforts at industrialisation while pledging the Group’s commitment to the concession agreement.

The Governor said that through the strategic partnership, the aspiration of his administration to grow the state economy through industrialisation will be achieved.
