Compt Onyeka Strengthens Synergy With Sister Agencies, Says National Security Top Priority

Comptroller Frank Onyeka,Customs Area Controller, Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs (right) and Navy Captain Omotayo Busuyi Oyeleye, Commanding Officer Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Badagry, when the Naval boss visited the Customs boss in Lagos.

The Customs Area Controller Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Frank Onyeka has said that to achieve a safe and prosperous nation, all security agencies in the Country must priortise National Security and reinforce collaboration among themselves.
Compt. Onyeka made the clarion call when he received the Commanding Officer Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Badagry, Navy Captain Omotayo Busuyi Oyeleye in his office in Lagos.
The statement signed by OE Ivara, Customs Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Tincan Island Port Command, Apapa- Lagos disclosed.
Controller Onyeka noted that beyond the core functions of revenue generation, trade facilitation and suppression of smuggling activities, Tincan Island Port Command also aimed at building a strong and formidable synergy with all security agencies in order to deter criminal elements from perpetuating their nefarious activities through the Seaport.
He described such criminal activities as detrimental to national development.
Continuing, the Controller lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Navy for providing adequate maritime security against sea robberies.
In his submissions, the Commanding Officer praise the Nigeria Customs Service for always rising to the occasion of joint patrol, disclosing that such input by the service has always been pivotal to the success of joint operations.

In another development, Comptroller Onyeka paid a familiarisation visit to the Controllers of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Services of the Port and Terminal Multipurpose Limited ( PTML) and Tincan Island Commands.
During the visit, which was held at the Quarantine office in Tincan, he reassured the agency of continued collaboration.
He further expressed his commitment to integrating the Quarantine Service into the Command’s activities for better synergy.
