Late Justice Okogwu

The operatives of the Delta State Police Command said they have arrested security guard and his friend over the murder of Justice Ifeoma Okogwu in Asaba, the Delta state capital.

The suspects, according to the police were arrested in Anambra state.

Justice Okogwu (Rtd) was murdered penultimate week in her house at Asaba, the Delta state capital.

Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command who confirmed their arrest, said they were apprehended on December 6,2025 by the operatives of homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Delta State Police command, which acted on intelligence information.

Edafe, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said operatives first arrested one Godwin mngumi, aged 25 years, the security guard who masterminded the killing.

He added that Godwin was nabbed in Anambra State, pointing out that the phone of the late retired justice had also been recovered from the suspect.

“He confessed that he invited his friend one Nnaji Obalum and one other suspect at large over to the house where they carried out the dastardly act together. Nnaji Obalum has also been arrested while the manhunt for the third suspect is ongoing,” Edafe averred.
