We’ll restore Bauchi’s image through schools’ sports — Abdullahi

The Nyewly appointed Head of Schools sports unit of the Bauchi State Sports Council, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, has called on coaches of the council to cooperate with him in order to justify the confidence repose in him to develop schools sports in the state.
Comrade Ibrahim was speaking while addressing 11 selected  coaches out of the 27 sporting associations in the state sports council that will kick-start the process of revitalizing the development of schools sports in the state.
He said school sports was abandoned for years by past administrations which led to the collapse of sporting activities and facilities in the state.
Ibrahim who is also the Marafan Ciroman Bauchi,  called on the coaches of the 11 selected sporting associations to strive hard and strategise fast on how to revive and develop grassroots sports through schools.
He called on the coaches to fast-tract efforts and justify the confidence repose in them.
Ibrahim warned that he will not condone laziness or any form of indicipline that may jeopardize the success of the programme considering the total neglect the unit suffered in the past.
Abdullahi tasked the coaches to live above board by going round the schools to keep sports alive and fish out hidden talents for state and the nation.
To achieve this he said, he will do anything humanly possible to cooperate and collaborate with individuals, groups and organizations all kinds of sports philanthropists to develop schools sports by sponsoring, organising and introducing special sports in various primary and secondary schools in the state.
While appreciating Bauchi State Government for it willingness and determination towards reviving school sports, he thanked Bauchi State Ministry of Youths and Sports and the sports council for backing his appointment and solicit for support, cooperation and understanding to succeed.
He assured that the department with the caliber of coaches, expressed hope that Bauchi will return it lost glory as the Mecca of sports in Nigeria.
Responding on behalf of the coaches, Miss Beauty Smart congratulated their boss for well-deserved appointment.
Smart promised that they will work tirelessly to get the right athletes at grassroots, develop and market them for their purposeful future.
She said the coaches are determine, willing and experienced and prayed that necessary  mechanisms be provided in good time to swing to action to feed the state with talented and young athletes to replace the older hands for the good of the nation.
