Barely one month after a huge seizure of petroleum products set for smuggling out of Nigeria through the Badagry and Seme axis, officers and men of the Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Thursday, intercepted another large quantity of petroleum products packaged in sacks and Jerry cans.
Estimated to be about 2500 Jerry cans of thirty (30) litres each equivalent to Seventy-Five thousand (75,000) litres, the duty paid value (DPV) stands at N19,785,000.00.
As stated in a release by the image maker of the Command, SC Hussaini Abdullahi, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Bello Mohammed Jibo has, for the umpteenth time, warned the perpetrators of these illegal activities to have a change of heart and take to worthy endeavours instead of engaging in activities that running down the national economy.
He advised them to stay off Seme Border routes or continue to count heavy losses as his men were determined to frustrate their evil efforts.
Falcon Watch recalls that three weeks ago, the Command made a similar seizure and arrest of over one hundred and nineteen thousand (119,000) litres of the same petroleum products.
