Comptroller Suleiman Bomai has assumed duties as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC),  PTML Command of the Nigeria Customs Service. He replaced the outgoing CAC, Comptroller Festus Okun who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General (ACG).

The PTML Customs Command image maker, SC Yakubu Muhammad stated this in a release.

While taking over, Comptroller Suleiman Bomai who was transferred from the Oil and Gas Command, Onne, promised to sustain and improve on  the robust stakeholders’ engagement existing in PTML as well as the 4-hour period for clearance of vehicles already in place for compliant traders.

The new CAC who urged licensed customs agents, importers and freight forwarders to be compliant at all times promised that this would guarantee them the full benefits of trade facilitation.

He pledged to continually improve on PTML Command’s laudable revenue collection profile, trade facilitation, customs community relations and non- compromise on duties collection.

In his remarks after the brief handover,  Acting ACG Okun hailed the Command as one blessed with dedicated officers and stakeholders.

He expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) for the opportunity given him to serve in PTML Command between February 2020 and August 2022.

The outgoing Controller expressed delight that during his tenure, the Command’s revenue profile moved up from N11bn monthly to N27bn.

In a tribute to ACG Okun, Bomai said:  “Acting ACG Sir, your coming has ushered in peace, stability and industrial harmony with strategic communications that would help achieve efficiency in service delivery.

“Inter-agency collaboration and constant engagements can solve trade disputes and promote team work for maximum results. These are necessary ingredients in the management of 21st century customs, ” the new CAC said.

On VIN Valuation, Bomaihe urged agents to provide quality data that would be of assistance in improving on the system.

He reminded stakeholders that VIN Valuation was introduced on their request and would continue to be improved upon.

Presently, Acting ACG Festus Okun is on posting as Zonal Coordinator, Zone C, Port Harcourt.
