Police Arrest 2 Suspected Car Thieves In Kebbi State

The stolen car recovered from 2 Suspected car thieves by the police in Kebbi State 
The operatives of the Kebbi State Police Command have arrested two suspects on allegation that they stole a vehicle from a car Mart.
The Suspects were arrested at about 4.30 p.m. on May 19, 2025, by a combined team of policemen and vigilante while on routine patrol along Shanga/Dugu Road in the state.
Nafiu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the arrest.
Abubakar, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) said the operatives intercepted an ash coloured unregistered Peugeot 206 car which was suspected to be stolen.
He revealed that the car was driven by one Umar Yusuf, a 25-year-old man and Dalhatu Aminu (m) aged 23 years, all of Birnin Kebbi town.
“When questioned, the suspects zoomed off. As a result, they were pursued and arrested. During interrogation, they confessed to have deceived the owner in Birnin Kebbi, that they wanted to buy the vehicle, but in the process of testing, they made away with it.”
While commending the bravery and professionalism displayed by the combined team of security personnel, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani reiterated the Command’s readiness to rid Kebbi State of all forms of crimes.
 The CP also urged the Police to always be vigilant while on duty.
CP Bello M Sani equally advised the motor vehicle dealers to be wary of some of their customers who have dubious intentions during their daily business.
The case, according to the police image maker had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation with a view to unravel their modus operandi and arrest the remaining gang members for prosecution.
