Ahead of the August 15, 2026 off-cycle governorship election in Osun State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as preparations intensify for the crucial poll.

Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, disclosed this following a meeting with the President in Abuja.

He described the engagement as encouraging and strengthening his resolve to pursue unity within the party and sustainable development for the state.

It was gathered that the APC flag bearer was accompanied by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

In a statement shared on his official X handle, Oyebamiji expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his leadership, support and commitment to progressive governance, noting that the meeting reinforced his determination to deliver purposeful leadership anchored on economic renewal and people-centred policies.

“As we prepare for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, I am strengthened by Mr President’s enduring belief in my capacity and in the principles of responsible leadership and development,” he stated.

He added that the President’s broader vision for national prosperity serves as a guiding framework for his agenda in Osun.

Oyebamiji pledged to consolidate party unity, deepen grassroots engagement and present a clear, actionable blueprint aimed at repositioning the state for sustainable growth and shared prosperity.

Describing the task ahead as one of responsibility and service, he assured party faithful and residents that his campaign would focus on inclusive governance and long-term economic stability, expressing confidence that collective efforts would deliver the Osun “of our shared aspirations.”
