Obiano hosts APGA ward excos in Awka

Anambra governor, Obiano exchange pleasantries with some APGA ward officials in Awka

Governor Willie Obiano has described APGA as the only hope of ndi Anambra.

Governor Obiano stated this when he met and with Executive members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance , including twenty one APGA Local Government executives and three hundred and twenty six ward Executives, among others.

Government House correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the event was held at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

Members of the State Executive Council, House of Representatives and Assembly members, among others were well represented in their numbers at the venue.

Governor Obiano who said that he called members of the party together, to appreciate them for supporting his administration, enphasized that without APGA, his administration would not have had any platform to perform.

He urged party faithful to go into their communities to propagate the good deeds of the party and canvass for more new members.

In his speech, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Uchenna Okafor described the party as the only party without crisis in the country, assuring that apart from their primary role of making laws, the Aseembly members will continue to support the Governor to offer effective representation to ndi Anambra.

Also speaking, former Central Bank Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, commended ndi Anambra for recognizing APGA as a party for ndi Igbo, praying for the sustained growth of APGA just as the member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, urged members not to relent as the party has done alot since inception.

Earlier, the State Chairman of APGA, Sir. Norbeŕt Obi pointed out that the call by the Governor is a recognition of their efforts and contributions assuring the Governor of support by the party faithful.

Speaking on behalf of members of the Board of Trustees of APGA, Chief Rommy Eze-Onwuka said APGA has done well in all facets of the State economy, and provided hope for ndi Igbo, adding that the party is desirous of the people’s support as they are already on a mission to elect a better successor after Governor Obiano come 2023.

Bags of rice and other items were distributed to party members as Christmas largesse.
