Chairman, Northern Youth Peace and Reconciliation Initiative, Sir Uba

The Northern Youth Peace and Reconciliation Initiative (NYPARI), has saluted President Muhammadu Buhari on the occasion of the 59th Anniversary celebration to mark Nigeria’s independence.

This message was contained in a press release handed over to newsmen by the National Chairman of NYPARI, Sir A.A Lawan Uba who is also the Dan Malikin Chikasoro, Adamawa.

According to the statement, Uba saluted President Buhari and his APC led administration saying the President has indeed demonstrated that he has all it takes to move the nation forward.

“We wish to salute President Muhammadu Buhari on the occasion of the 59th independent celebration. There is no doubt that the President and his team have stirred the ship of state in a dexterous manner to the surprise of naysayers who hoped the administration will not live to this day to witness and page in the nation’s history,” he said.

The statement further urge the federal government to look into the plight of Nigerian youth with regards to finding a lasting solution for job creation as well as provide functional incentives that would motivate them to take education seriously.

Lawan noted that “We also wish to use this medium to call on the government of the All Progressives Congress as lead by the President to please consider the plight of the Nigerian youths who struggle on a daily basis for what to eat, sleep, learn and earn.”

Lawan also pointed out that he has “no doubt in our hearts that the President Buhari means well, but given the fact that most people caught in criminal activities is suggestive of the fact that more work needs to be done to dissuade youths from taking to crime and other social vices.”

NYPARI through her chairman equally had a word of advice for the Nigerian youth, especially those from the northern extraction, urging them to be patient with the current administration as well as to eschew all negative tendencies that would portrait the country in a bad light.

The Northern Youth Peace and Reconciliation Initiative (NYPARI) is a non-profit, non-political and nongovernmental organization born out of the desire to promote peace and ensure the all-round development of Nigeria especially the north.
