NDLEA convicted 4 over illicit drugs in Anambra

The Anambra State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), has secured four convictions in the month of January.

They are 26-year-old James Odili who was arrested with 1.150 kilogram of cannabis sativa and sentenced to two years imprisonment while 21-year-old Paul Odah with 3.5 kilogram of cannabis sativa was also sentenced to two years imprisonment.

Others are 28-year-old Ugochukwu Okafor, arrested with 2.8 kilogram of cannabis sativa and 35-year-old Ugochukwu Onuchekwa arrested with 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, and 1.7 grams of cocaine both were sentenced to two years imprisonment respectively.

In a release issued by NDLEA Public Relations Officer, Charles Efosa Odigie, the judgment was delivered by Justice I.B. Gafai, at the Federal High Court in Awka.

Meanwhile the NDLEA Anambra State Commander, Mr. Sule Momodu has warned drug traffickers and peddlers to put a stop to their illicit trade or relocate elsewhere because the state will be too hot for them to stay.
