Governor Bala Mohammad of Bauchi State has reiterated the resolve of his administration to declare state of emergency on the health sector.
The governor unfolded this when he received members of Global Affairs Canada led by Mr Daniel Arsenault on a courtesy call at Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Mohammad said the move was part of efforts to find lasting solutions to the challenges facing the sector to ensure human capital development
He said to address shortage of manpower in the health sector, Health Personnel Institute would be established for effective service delivery.
According to him, other sectors where state of emergency are to be declared are agriculture and education to address the challenges identified by the organization.
Governor Mohammad who said his administration would value working with development partners for better performance, pledged to ensure timely release of counterpart funding for speedy implementation of their programmes for fast development of our dear state.
Earlier in his address, Mr Arsenault disclosed that N15billion would be release to the state for human capital development in the state.
The team leader of the organization focused attention on women and children empowerment in addition to their protection and acknowledged the successes recorded by the organization in the state.
Mr Arsenault appealed to the state government to give special attention to human capital development and improve agriculture sector to enable women key into the sector for self reliant.
