FG to assist Bauchi with modern grazing reserves

The Federal Government  has expressed its willingness to support Bauchi State Government to modernize its grazing reserves in line with international best practice.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono, made this known during interaction with stakeholders in the sector at Galanbi Range in Bauchi Local Government Area of the state.
Nanono said the Livestock Transformation Plan initiated by  Buhari’s administration is to cater for the needs of the beneficiaries for economic development of the country.
He said his ministry would sensitize farmers and other critical stakeholders on the need to key into the policy as foreign investors have agreed to invest in the sector considering it viability.
The minister, while  assuring his ministry’s support for effective implementation of the policy in Bauchi, attributed the high rate of unemployment and crisis in the country to the collapsed of industries particularly in the north.
Senator Bala Mohammed, while appreciating the minister for his kind gesture to visit Bauchi at this time of need from his ministry to assist and encourage farming activities in the state said the grazing reserves in the state if properly taken care of would contribute positively towards  reduction of poverty and unemployment and make people purposeful economically.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Senator Baba Tela, told the minister that already the state government has keyed into the federal government livestock transformation plan.
Mohammed expressed the determination of his administration to modernize its grazing reserves for the socioeconomic development of the state.
Highlights of the occasion include presentation of gift to the Minister by Hakimin Zungur who is also the Galadiman Bauchi, Surveyor Ibrahim Saidu Jahun.
