The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Controller Frank Onyeka reiterated the need for peaceful coexistence among the various religious groups in the country.

Comptroller Onyeka made this assertion in Lagos when he hosted a special Ramadan dinner for a diverse group of stakeholders, mainly Muslim faithfuls and well-wishers   at the Command’s headquarters.

O.E.Ivara, Customs Public Relations Officer of the Command disclosed in a statement.

Ivara said that during his welcome address, Comptroller Onyeka highlighted that Ramadan is a time for reflection, self-discipline, and compassion.

He explained that the purpose of the event extended beyond providing food but aimed at fostering open dialogue and mutual understanding.

“This dinner is a way to show solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters during this sacred month. It’s an opportunity to celebrate their devotion to faith, while also recognizing the shared values of community, kindness, and empathy,” he shared.

The Chief Imam of Tincan Island Mosque, Imam Sadiq Mohammed, expressed his gratitude to Comptroller Onyeka for organizing the dinner.

He described the event as a thoughtful initiative to bridge the gap between all religions at the Port, and he offered prayers for the success of the Command.

Alhaji Akeem Ayobiojo, Chairman of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics (APFFLON) Tincan Island Command Chapter, also expressed his appreciation.

He praised Comptroller Onyeka for fostering unity and understanding at the Port, stating, “This dinner is a testament to the spirit of unity and mutual respect we strive to cultivate here at Tincan Island Port. Through this event, Comptroller Onyeka has created an environment where our differences are celebrated, and our shared humanity is recognized.”

The event was attended by key figures, including members of the Armed Forces, Customs Licensed Agents, Terminal Operators, and Shipping Line Operators.
