NPA Mourns Former Chief Executive, Bamanga Tukur

Late Alh Bamanga Tukur

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho has expressed condolences to the immediate family of the late former Chief Executive Officer of NPA, Alh Bamanga Tukur, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the people of Adamawa State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the NPA’s General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, Mr Ikechukwu Onyemekara, and made available to journalists.

Dantsoho, who joined the Executive Governor of Adamawa State to receive the corpse of the late business mogul, described Tukur as a pillar of trade facilitation and an inspiration to many.

“I will like to on behalf of the entire Management and Staff of the NPA express our profound condolences and deepest sympathies to his immediate family, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and indeed the good people of Adamawa State on the demise of a pillar of trade facilitation and an inspiration to many,” Dantsoho said.

 

Mr Ikechukwu Onyemekara, General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, NPA

Alh Tukur, a former General Manager and Chief Executive, died on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the age of 90.

Tukur, a distinguished elder statesman and international businessman, served as General Manager and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Ports Authority from 1975 to 1982.
